🚨 TWO MEMBERS OF CONGRESS CALL OUT BIDEN FOR NOT CONSULTING CONGRESS BEFORE ATTACKING YEMEN

Val Hoyle: "These airstrikes have NOT been authorized by Congress. The Constitution is clear: Congress has the sole authority to authorize military involvement in overseas conflicts. Every president must first come to Congress and ask for military authorization, regardless of party."

RoKhanna: "The President needs to come to Congress before launching a strike against the Houthis in Yemen and involving us in another middle east conflict. That is Article I of the Constitution. I will stand up for that regardless of whether a Democrat or Republican is in the White House."

🚨General of the Yemeni Armed Forces Abdussalam Jahaf :

“By the grace of Almighty Allah, we sank the first American ship with everyone on board using our missiles.”

So we are waiting for recognition or not of the loss from America."

The US and Britain have launched massive retaliatory airstrikes against Iran-backed Houthi rebels with the help of several countries, including Australia, Joe Biden has announced.

The attacks have used warship-launched Tomahawk missiles and fighter jets, several US officials told The Associated Press.

The military targets included logistical hubs, air defence systems and weapons storage locations, they said.

"Today, at my direction, U.S. military forces -- together with the United Kingdom and with support from Australia, Bahrain, Canada, and the Netherlands – successfully conducted strikes against a number of targets in Yemen used by Houthi rebels to endanger freedom of navigation in one of the world's most vital waterways," US President Biden said.

"These strikes are in direct response to unprecedented Houthi attacks against international maritime vessels in the Red Sea -- including the use of anti-ship ballistic missiles for the first time in history."

Yemen’s Houthis claim missile, drone attack on US ship

12:06

Yemen’s Iran-backed Huthi rebels on Wednesday said they had fired drones and missiles at an American ship, after US and UK forces reported foiling a large attack in the Red Sea.

Military spokesman Yahya Saree said a “large number” of missiles and drones targeted a US ship that was “providing support” to Israel during its war against Hamas.

“The naval forces, the missile force, and the unmanned air force of the Yemeni armed forces carried out a joint military operation with a large number of ballistic and naval missiles and drones,” he said in a statement on X, formerly Twitter.

Saree did not give timing or a location for the attack. Earlier on Wednesday, the US military said American and British forces shot down 18 drones and three missiles launched by the Huthis towards international shipping lanes in the Red Sea.

It was the “largest attack… to date” by the Huthis in the Red Sea, UK Defence Secretary Grant Shapps said in a statement.

The rebels, part of the “axis of resistance” of groups arrayed against Israel, have launched more than 100 drone and missile strikes in the Red Sea during the ongoing war in Gaza, according to Pentagon figures.

@RichardGrenell

Joe Biden removed the Houthis from the Terror Watch List.

The Houthis are now firing on America and @JakeSullivan46

hasn’t put them back on the list.

Biden’s weakness is making us less safe.

Houthis Release Dramatic Video Of Ship Hijacking - Promise "This Is The Beginning"

Yemen's Houthi rebels have released dramatic video of their Sunday hijacking of the Galaxy Leader, a vehicle-transport ship whose owner is a subsidiary of a company owned by an Israeli billionaire.

The ship is still in their control, with 25 crew members of various nationalities held hostage and the vessel now in the Yemeni port of Hodeidah.

The Red Sea incident received surprisingly little initial coverage by major media, considering it marked the opening of a new, maritime front in the multilateral regional conflict that erupted on Oct 7, when Palestinian Hamas militants invaded southern Lebanon, killing more than a thousand Israeli civilians and soldiers.
