Wisconsin Republicans Ramp Up Efforts To Investigate 2020 Election After Pressure From Trump House Assembly Speaker Robin Vos, R-Wis., announced on Friday that he will be expanding a probe into the state’s 2020 presidential election results, claiming more investigation is warranted. Vos signed various contracts in June with former law enforcement officials and a former Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice to conduct the investigation. He designated retired Justice Michael Gableman as a “special counsel” with the authority to hire more investigators as needed in order to complete the probe by the fall, according to a report by the Associated Press. In addition to the special counsel, Wisconsin is currently under another election review commissioned by the Legislative Audit Bureau that is set to finish in the fall, The Epoch Times reported. Praising the two probes into the states alleged election fraud, Vos called on legislators and Wisconsinites to get behind the investigations. “If you have two independent investigations where they are going to go the way the evidence leads them, that should be something we should all get around,” Vos said. His efforts come less than two months after he received stark criticism from President Donald Trump who previously criticized Vos’ feeble efforts to investigate the 2020 election. “Wisconsin Republican leaders Robin Vos, Chris Kapenga, and Devin LeMahieu, are working hard to cover up election corruption, in Wisconsin,” Trump said in a statement in June. “Don’t fall for their lies! These REPUBLICAN ‘leaders’ need to step up and support the people who elected them by providing them a full forensic investigation.
